Tanja Andrijić

Tanja Andrijic (soprano) is opera and concert performer,  receiver of the Golden Beočug and Golden Badge awords from the Cultural Education Society of Serbia, laureate at numerous International and State Competition, the founder and president of the „ Queen Mary Choir“ association and is a solo- singing  professor at the „ Mokranjac“ School of Music in Belgrade. She is the recipient of the order “In memory of many years of missionary and educational efforts” in Saint Petersburg.

Tanja Andrijić’s artistic activity includes over 1,500 performances around the world, a large number of radio and television shows, Master seminars and participation in the work of various domestic and international juries.

At an early age, songs were written for her, she performed in Radio and TV broadcasts and made recordings. Later, she studied piano and vocal performance, was a member of the National Theater’s Opera Studio in Belgrade, and completed her studies with Rudolf Piernay at the Music Academy in Mannheim.

After gathering her first stage experience in smaller roles she was heard at the National Theater Belgrade as Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), First Lady (Die Zauberflöte) and Musetta (La Boheme), among other roles. In the meantime she has progressed to the great soprano roles such as Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus), Santuzza (Cavalleria Rusticana), Senta ( Der Fliegende Holländer), Deola ( Al Gran Sole carico d’amore). In addition, Tanja Andrijic is regularly heard at the Macedonian National Theater in Skopje.

In August 2009 , she made her Salzburg Festival debut as Soprano 1, in L. Nono’s: „ Al gran sole carico d’amore conducted by Ingo Metzmacher.  She sang the same role at the Berlin State opera and the Opera Leipzig.

Tanja Andrijic has been a long time advocate for contemporary music: in recitals and concerts, she has presented first performances of many works by Russian, Serbian, Norwegian and German composers (Gisle Krogseth, Olga Magidenko, Johannes Harneit, Aleksandar Vujić, Maja le Roux Obradović, Miroljub Aranđelović  Rasinski, Biljana Vasiljević Drašković, Dušan Trbojević, Ivan Brkljačić) and poets ( Danica Dodić, Milanka Berković). She appeared in main roles in the first world premieres of  Miroljub Arandjelovic Rasinski’s : Cantata „Cross of saint King Konstantin“ and rewarded opera „ Sedra“, opera based on the idea of doctor Vlado Batnožić.

She released six solo studio albums : „Starry notes“ for PGP-RTS , „Suoni aeterni“, „The most beautiful arias“, „Musical track“, „PEARLS of Serbian solo songs” and „The sun is bright” for publishing house Maestro International.

She is the author of schoolbooks and manuals for music culture for elementary school, published by the publishing house DATA STATUS. Many students from Tanja Andrijić’s class are winners of significant awards at international and national competitions.  The most talented and hardworking among them continued their education at prestigious music faculties in the country and abroad.
