Slobodanka Vasiljević Ljujić was born in 1979 in Valjevo, Serbia. She completed both her primary and secondary music education at the “Živorad Grbić” Music School, studying in the classes of Prof. Miomir Simonović and Prof. Tahir Kulenović, while simultaneously graduating from the Valjevo Gymnasium. She enrolled at the Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade in the 1998/99 academic year, studying in the class of Prof. Tahir Kulenović. She graduated in 2003 in the class of Prof. Ljubiša Jovanović, with a grade point average of 9.47.
During her studies, she participated in numerous competitions and received many awards. She further refined her skills at masterclasses and seminars with renowned flutists such as Patrick Gallois, Emmanuel Pahud, János Bálint, Ljubiša Jovanović, and Miomir Simonović. She was a member of the flute choir ensemble “Beogradska Siringa” at the National Theatre in Belgrade, with which she performed extensively both in Serbia and abroad.
From 2000 to 2008, she worked at the “Marko Tajčević” Music School in Lazarevac, and during that period she also spent one year as a part-time associate at the “Vojislav Lale Stefanović” Music School in Užice. Since 2008, she has been employed as a professor of flute and chamber music at the “Živorad Grbić” Music School in Valjevo. As a result of her successful pedagogical work, her students have won—and continue to win—numerous awards at national and international competitions. She has twice been named the most successful pedagogue at the “Tahir Kulenović” Flutists’ Meetings. In addition, she served for six years as the head of the Woodwind Department at the “Živorad Grbić” Music School.
