Sandra Dropo Ramaji (Novi Sad, 1989) completed her Bachelor (2012) and Master (2019) studies in saxophone at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, under the guidance of Prof. Gordan Tudor and Prof. Nikola Fabijanić. She completed her primary music education at the “Isidor Bajić” Music School in 2004 with Prof. Željko Bodor, and her secondary music education in 2008 with Mr. Bojan Vukelić. During her studies, she won numerous awards at national and international competitions, both as a soloist and as a member of chamber ensembles.
Since 2013, she has been teaching saxophone and chamber music at the “Isidor Bajić” Music School in Novi Sad, where her students have achieved outstanding results, winning prizes at competitions such as the National Competition of the Association of Music and Ballet Schools of Serbia (ZMBSŠ), Femus (Subotica), Wind Chamber Competition and Lady Wind (Pančevo), Saksofonijada (Smederevo), Davorin Jenko (Belgrade), Saxperience Competition (Belgrade), Sirmium Music Fest (Sremska Mitrovica), and Days of Music (Bačka Topola), as well as performing at numerous regional and national events.
Since September 2025, she has served as the Head of the Wind Department Council at the “Isidor Bajić” Music School, contributing to the development of teaching practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the promotion of wind instruments.
She has participated in workshops both as a performer (“Sound Painting”, INFANT Festival Novi Sad, 2011) and as an educator (“Škola saksofona u Jaski”, Zagreb, 2015). For many years, she has been active on the reggae and ska music scenes as a saxophonist with the bands Drum’n’Zez and JAL, and was one of the founders and the lead alto saxophonist of the Vojvodina Youth Jazz Big Band (2010–2018).
In 2015 and 2016, she took part in the project “New Spark Jazz Orchestra: Women of the Balkans in Jazz” as one of ten selected female musicians. The project mentors were saxophonist Jasna Jovićević, Vasil Hadžimanov, and Toni Kitanovski. She has recorded several CDs and performed in Serbia, Croatia, and Slovenia.
As an organizer and coordinator of numerous educational and artistic projects, she is actively involved in events such as the Winter Saxophone Masterclass, the “Isidor Bajić” Festival, and other programs promoting music education and the development of young artists. Through her pedagogical and organizational work, she strives to connect the local and international music communities and to encourage innovative approaches to teaching and artistic practice.
Through these projects, she has collaborated with distinguished saxophonists from the European scene, including Bojan Vukelić, Marko Džomba, Martina Stuckler, Mojca Pecman, Filip Orlović, Luka Ignjatović, Gordan Tudor, Tomislav Žužak, Rok Volk, Domen Koren and Fabian Pablo Müller.
