Radmila Rakin Martinović

Radmila Rakin Martinović graduated from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad in 1984. She also obtained a Master of Arts degree in 1987, specializing in flute performance, in the class of Professor Marijan Egić. She further refined her skills under Bruno Cavallo. As one of the top pupils and an outstanding student, she participated in numerous competitions and won the highest awards (a total of 16 first prizes).

After completing her studies, she pursued a career as a soloist and chamber musician (performing in a duo and with the flute trio “Density”). She took part in the most important musical events in Yugoslavia and performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras in the country. She recorded for many radio and television stations both domestically and abroad, and released a CD produced by the publishing house “EOS” from Graz, Austria.

She began her teaching career in 1981, during her second year of studies, as a flute professor at the Music School “Isidor Bajić” in Novi Sad, where she is still employed today. She has been a member of all Yugoslav flute competition juries, as well as a member of the international jury at the “Petar Konjović” competition in Belgrade. Since October 1999, she has been a professor at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, teaching Methodology of Flute Instruction and Methodology of Wind Instrument Instruction. From the 2001/2002 to 2004/2005 academic years, she also lectured at the Music Academy in Cetinje. She holds the title of full professor in these subjects.

Mr. Radmila Rakin Martinović has been the director of the Music School “Isidor Bajić” in Novi Sad since 1996. The school’s outstanding achievements in major competitions (being named the best music school in Serbia seven consecutive times) have been appropriately showcased through the celebration of three major anniversaries: the 130th anniversary of Isidor Bajić’s birth, and the 90th and 100th anniversaries of the school’s founding. She served as executive producer on two CDs released by the school in cooperation with Radio Novi Sad.

The Music School “Isidor Bajić” received the prestigious Vuk Award in 1999, as well as the international “New Millennium Award – International Award for the Best Trade Name” in 2004 (Madrid, Spain). In recognition of her overall work, the Cultural and Educational Community of Vojvodina awarded her the “Iskra kulture” prize in 1999. She is the founder and director of the “Isidor Bajić” Memorial and the International Competition “Anton Eberst.”

She received the Gold Badge “Global Quality Management” for Best Manager in 2004 (Madrid, Spain). In February 2005, she was awarded the Annual Prize of the Association of Music and Ballet Schools of Serbia for exceptional achievements in artistic and pedagogical work in 2004. On November 25, 2005, the Assembly of the City of Novi Sad awarded her the “November Charter” for outstanding achievements in the fields of art, pedagogy, advancement of music education, and for promoting the Music School “Isidor Bajić” both nationally and internationally.

In January 2006, Radmila Rakin Martinović received the St. Sava Award from the Ministry of Education and Sport of the Republic of Serbia for her contribution to the development of education in 2005.
