Dejan Subotić

Dejan Subotić   studied piano with Andreja Preger, Andreja Inhof and Nevena Popović, in whose class he graduated and received his master’s degree at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. After that, he graduated and received his master’s degree in harpsichord with Zorica Ćetković and completed his doctoral studies in chamber music in the same class. As a scholarship holder of the European Commission, he continued his studies at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm (Department of Chamber Music in Edsberg,  at prof. Mats Seterkvist). He has won prizes at the Piano Competition in Rome and the   Kawai  Competition  in Italy. He has performed at several festivals, such as the International Composers’ Forum,   Days of Mokranjac,   OKTOH and   Harpsichord, Living Art.  He represented the Faculty of Music at the Master Course of Baroque and Contemporary Music in Dubrovnik and held a master-class in chamber music at the Conservatory in Vigo (Spain).  As a soloist with orchestra, he has performed works by Bach, Marten and de Fallau. He has collaborated with   the St. George   Strings and   DuÅ¡an Skovran  Chamber Orchestras,  as well as with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra and the RTS Symphony Orchestra. He has performed in Austria, Spain, Romania, Slovakia, Croatia and the Czech Republic. He has been a member of the Singidunum Trio     with flutist Stana Krstajić and violinist Ksenija MiloÅ¡ević)   since 2005.    The trio has premiered a large number of works by foreign and Serbian composers and made permanent recordings for Radio Belgrade. Since 2007, they have been performing in a piano duo with Tea Dimitrijević. The duo has performed integral works by Eric Sathy and Claude Debussy, as well as numerous works by Serbian authors written for them. A recording of Schumann’s works interpreted by this ensemble was also broadcast by the British radio BBC3. The duo is the winner of the Silver Medal of the University of Arts.

Dejan Subotić is a full professor at the Department of Chamber Music at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. Ensembles from his class have won awards at national and international competitions in Italy, Russia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia. They have given recitals at festivals in Italy (   Nei suoni dei luoghi  ), Bulgaria (   Via Pontica  ), Austria, Germany, Macedonia, Montenegro (   A tempo  ) and Serbia.

He is active in the field of artistic research. He has been a mentor in 20 doctoral art projects. He has been a member of the In.tune Alliance’s research package committee since its inception. His work on mentoring in the field of art has been selected to be presented at the AIRE conference at the Norwegian College in Oslo in 2026. He has been appointed as a member of the commissions for the final master’s examinations at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague in 2025 and 2026.
