Mr. Milena Zelenović was born in 1967 in Bijeljina, where she completed elementary music school in the piano department, followed by secondary music school in Tuzla. She graduated from the Music Academy in Sarajevo, Theoretical-Pedagogical Department, earning the professional title Academic Musician – Professor, and completed her master’s studies at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, earning the academic title Master of Music Theory.
Since 1985, she has worked as a piano teacher in elementary music school, and from 1992 she has taught harmony, theoretical subjects, and comparative piano at the Secondary Music School in Bijeljina. During the 1995/96 school year, she was engaged at the Secondary Music School in Valjevo (Serbia), teaching harmony, music history, and comparative piano.
Her students have achieved numerous awards – in the 2021/22 school year alone, they won 33 awards, including 19 first prizes (five with a perfect score of 100 points) and three laureates. Over her career, her students have won over a hundred awards and distinctions.
She has served multiple times as a jury member at national competitions for music schools in the fields of harmony, musical forms, and complementary piano. She is also the author of several professional papers published in scientific and professional journals. Ms. Zelenović is the recipient of the Svetosavska Award in the field of secondary education for the 2021/2022 school year. Over three decades of pedagogical work, she has earned great respect from colleagues, students, and parents.
